Grand Country
The Grand Country is a quiet park located in northeast Oklahoma
on Grand Lake next to a nature preserve.
We are a 1/4 mile from the highway, so most days you wake up to the sound of birds.

Many birds visit us including the scissortail, hummingbirds, bluebirds, oriales, cardinals, goldfinches, ...
you get the picture, we're never sure who's going to visit...
so it's a great place for bird watching

along the shore you can see egrets, herons, pelicans
and occassionally a bald eagle.  There is appr 640' of shoreline
in the park and if you're adventurous,
you can continue your bird watching walk along the shore of the nature preserve adjacent to the park.

There is a paved nature trail adjacent to the park
which leads to a nature center that shows a lot of the local birds, animals, trees and wildfloweres .
The nature trail is appr 1/2 mi to nature center.
The nature center has a fenced area where birds and animals are kept for recuperation.  Seen there in the past were owls, racoons and fawns

Northeast Oklahoma has a moderate climate so there are many months for bird watching.  The nature trail is open year round and the nature center is open during the summer.  Northeast oklahoma is on a migratory path for many birds.  In northeast oklahoma, the wildflowers and early bloomers start appearing as early as late February and blooms can be seen into December.  No matter when you visit northeast Oklahoma, bird watching is a fun way to wile away the day.
